A woman named Beauty Begum (35) was killed in a field accident in Joypurhat.
Police have recovered the body of a woman after 36 days from a toilet in Shibpur village of the upazila on Friday night.
Ujjwal Hossain, 21, son of Shah Alam, an expatriate from the area, was arrested with the help of information technology. Khetlal police officer in charge (OC) confirmed the information. Raushan Yazdani.
According to the police sources, the incident started when the Bogra police unit went to identify another body. The incident was confirmed when the Bogra police unit took the mobile phones of the slain Beauty Begum and Ujjwal Hossain through information technology. That unit arrested Ujjwal Hossain from Bogra. According to the arrested Ujjwal Hossain, his village home in Shibpur of Khetlal upazila actually called the local police administration. According to Ujjwal Hossain’s confession, the police recovered a decomposed body of 1 month and 7 days from the toilet well of his house. Beauty Begum’s family members identified the body after seeing the victim’s reading clothes.
The arrested Ujjwal further said that Beauty Begum fell in love with him on the basis of her identity on her mobile phone. On the night of the incident, when Beauty pressured him for marriage, Ujjwal killed him by suffocating him and threw him into a well in the backyard of his house. Bablu Mia, elder brother of the deceased, filed a case in this regard.
Khetlal police officer in charge (OC) said. Raushan Yazdani said the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital for autopsy and the arrested Ujjwal was sent to jail through the court.
