Nageshwari Correspondent:
Dadar business is going on in Kachakata. A mother and daughter were seriously injured in a recent attack by a Dadan trader at Kachakata in Kurigram and are undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex. At night, unscrupulous Dadan traders vandalized the house of Dinmajur Nazrul in Tepar Kuti Chatna Par village in Kedar Union of Kachakata Police Station and physically abused his mother and daughter. Injured mother Beli Begum and SSC examinee Rozina Khatun said that they took Rs 50,000 from Dadu trader Majnu Miah of Nayanatari village in Kedar Union to run the family as there was no work during the coronary period and I have been paying it every month. Suddenly, at around 8 pm last Thursday, some people including Majnu Mia came to our house and demanded four times more money, but when they refused to pay, they beat us and vandalized our house. At that time, the terrorists took away an LED TV, two mobile phones and a tubewell.
Meanwhile, Dadan traders are threatening to make the situation worse if they file a case with the police station. The victim’s family said they would file a case with the police station with the medical certificate after the treatment. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kachakata Police Station Jahedul Islam said no case has been registered yet as the injured are undergoing treatment. If a case is filed, action will be taken against the Dadan traders.
