After the horrific fire inside the BM Depot loading point in Bhatiari area under Sitakunda police station in Chittagong, RAB-07 Chittagong received news through various channels that some members of the dishonest syndicate have been illegally collecting illegal gill in a crowded village in Tulatuli area of ​​Sitakunda police station for a long time. It has been selling different re-rolling pieces. As a result, the safety of the lives of the people in the area is at risk of major accidents at any time.

RAB-6, Chittagong took the matter very seriously and started a massive intelligence surveillance and shadow investigation to arrest the key leaders of the syndicate. Following this, from 06 June 2022 AD to 09 June 2022 AD, an expedition team of RAB-7, Chittagong conducted an operation in Tulatuli area of ​​Bhatiari Union under Sitakunda police station of Chittagong district. Md. Ismail Hossain @ Kusum (51), father- deceased Haji Shafiur Rahman, 2. Md. Mohsin (51), father deceased – Fayez Ahmed and 3. Md. Nurun Nabi (48) arrested 09 people including father-deceased Siddique Ahmed. The detainees were later taken into custody at Kusum’s depot, on the north side of Fakira Mosque, on the south side of Kabir Steel’s abandoned building and about 10,000 LPG gas cylinders from the surrounding area, including an estimated 2,000 cylinders of gas and gas. The accused were arrested along with 2 used trucks.

In order to improve the quality of customer service and to increase the use of cylinder gas, the company sells gas cylinders to the customers at low cost. The actual cost of an empty gas cylinder is Rs. 2700 / -. According to section 91 of the LPG provision, changing the shape of the cylinder is a punishable offense. The cylinders are owned by the company which the dealer or customer refills the LPG in the same cylinder repeatedly. The LPG cylinder is to be destroyed by the concerned company in the presence of the members of the Directorate of Explosives if the gas cylinder is re-tested after 10 years of use by the Department of Explosives. Cutting out of gas cylinders is strictly prohibited but the accused illegally collect LPG gas cylinders and cut them and supply them to various re-rolling mills for illegal gain without heeding any rules and regulations.

Talking to the people of the area, it was learned that no one dared to open his mouth for fear of the members of this gang. Environmental pollution and the locals were at high risk of accidents, but they did not complain for fear of the people of the syndicate. As a result of the arrest of the accused, relief has returned to the area and the image of RAB has been brightened in the minds of the people. Note that the arrested accused No. 01 Md. Ismail Hossain @ Kusum was accused of cutting the cylinder on 12 July 2021 AD.

The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
